Fall 2020 Dates
In preparation to welcome students on campus with a continued focus on health and safety of our community, the Acadia Senate approved that undergraduate classes for Fall 2020 will begin on September 21st. Starting dates for graduate programs will vary. Please check with your Department.

Please reference the key arrival dates below and note we will be working with students to generate individual itineraries to ensure a safe and coordinated welcome to campus. You can also review an updated list of all academic dates for the fall semester below.

September Arrival Dates:
Wednesday – Saturday, 2 - 5 Residences Open for International Students (students must arrive in Nova Scotia by Sept. 5th to accommodate self-isolation).
Thursday - Monday, 3 - 7 International Student Orientation
Friday – Saturday, 4-5 Residence Open for all new Canadian students (excluding all students not required to self-isolate)
Saturday – Friday, 5-18 Fourteen (14) Day Self-isolation Period
Saturday – Sunday, 19-20 Residences open for all new and returning students not required to self-isolate

Monday, 21 Classes begin for Fall and Fall/Winter (full-year) courses. Fee payment deadline.
Wednesday, 30 Last day to add/change any Fall or Fall/Winter course sections. Last day to withdraw from a Fall or Fall/Winter course without a “W” appearing on the transcript.

Monday, 12 Thanksgiving Day - no classes.
Thursday, 15 Exam schedule posted for December examinations. Last day to decrease meal plan for Fall term. Last day to opt out of ASU Health Plan or add dependents.

Wednesday, 11 Remembrance Day - no classes.
Thursday-Friday, 12-13 Reading Break – no classes.
Friday, 13 Last day to withdraw from a Fall term course and receive a “W”. Any Fall course withdrawals after today will receive an “F” grade.

Friday, 11 Last day of classes.
Saturday, 12 Examination study day.
Sunday, 13 Fall term examinations begin.
Sunday, 20 Fall term examinations end.
The Registrar’s Office is accepting phone, email and online (HUB requests) for support and information. Staff will be onsite Tuesdays and Thursdays only, and requests for emergency service and official documents are by appointment only. The primary and preferred means for responses and issuing of documents will be electronically. Please email registrar@acadiau.ca or submit a HUB request.
2020 Spring and Summer - IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Acadia made the difficult decision to cancel its on campus Spring and Summer session courses given the evolving COVID-19 situation. Students interested in continuing their studies with Acadia this spring and summer can now register for "Remote Delivery" courses. Instead of studying on-campus, students can complete a course online. Remote delivery courses will include a blend of different methods of presentation and assessment. Online courses through Open Acadia are also available. For information about these continuous intake, start anytime online course offerings, please visit Open Acadia Online Learning.

Release of Information Permission Form
The information that Acadia University collects during your time as a student is confidential and is not available beyond the campus community without your consent. If you wish to provide access to this information to others, complete the Release of Information Permission Form. The form will be in effect from the date you indicate until you revoke it, or graduate from Acadia University. * Your Acadia Network Account must be active.

Timetable Tip

To find a list of open courses quickly, in the Timetable, enter the faculty and choose ANY for the discipline; then choose OPEN from the Status. You will get all the courses that are not full in that faculty. Of course, you can enter a discipline and get all the open courses just in that discipline, as well!
