ENTREPRENEURSHIP & INNOVATION
An examination of the entrepreneur's role in creating and revitalizing
enterprises in the business sector, the social and not-for-profit sector
(including community-based and informal sectors) and the public sector.
Topics covered include: entrepreneurial aspiration and personal
development; creativity; entrepreneurial behaviour (its characteristics
and motivation); theories of entrepreneurship and its role in the
economy; business opportunity selection (identification, assessment,
development); innovation management in the corporate and the small
business sectors; social entrepreneurship; government policy in support
of entrepreneurship development. Learning media used in the course: case
studies, research literature, experiential learning, and field projects.
